Abstract: 

The principles and value of R&D in a technical company are Technology, Innovation, Products/Profit, and Sustainability (TIPS). 

In this seminar, based on the speaker's many years of industrial experience, we will first address how TIPS play a crucial role in the success and failure of a company, even in large Dow Jones industrial companies, then, will discuss how we work to adapt and challenge the ups and downs of a company. 

Finally, we will discuss how to be a good and valuable scientist or engineer or technical leader/manager.
